With the aim of bringing knowledge of the geological history of the province of Segovia to people with any difficulty to go for an excursion in Segovia (elderly people, people with disabilities, people with difficulties to come to Segovia, etc) we offer the possibility to give a talk with a slide show.

In the presentation the history of the province of Segovia is displayed explaining where the rocks of the province come from. It is an extraordinary journey through the movement of continents on the Earth's surface, unimaginable climate changes, emergence of new species, etc.

The talk is delivered using an accessible and clear language with explanations designed for people without previous knowledge of geology.

This course, oriented to the general public, will guide you through the understanding of how the Earth was formed, when the first organisms appeared in the primitive oceans, and how the different forms of life have changed from their beginning to the present day.

We will also study the most significant changes in the planet, and how those changes have influenced the forms of life and their adaptations to the new conditions that have taken place.

It is a thrilling history, full of unexpected events, drastic changes in many ways and awesome creatures.

Maps interpretation

Would you like to extract all the information you can find in a map? This is your course.

From the very beginning and without previous knowledge, we will learn how to interpret the information of the maps: from finding the cardinal points to interpreting the simbology.

There are many different kinds of maps. Some of them are different because of the aim for which there were made, others because of the projection used to made them and each one has its particularities. And not only maps of our planet!

We will also do some exercises in order to understand better how gradients works and so be able to evaluate, for instance, how hard would be a particular route on the map.

Finally, we will do orientation exercises in order to place ourselves on the map and be able to go from one point to another.
